Exploring Mixed Media Painting

Exploring Mixed Media Painting with Mia Clark will guide you in ways to develop original artworks in an intuitive approach. Essentially, we will start with mark making in a variety of approaches. We will brainstorm your personal imagery and motifs that appeal to you and collect imagery and objects that you will use to develop your paintings in a series of works. You will become more attuned to your personal colour schemes and the lines, shapes and painting styles you express yourself with. We will experiment with painterly mono printing methods, gelliplate prints, transfer methods, stencils, stamps and ways of creating textures. We will use collages of our own painted paper to create new work and we will consider using unusual surfaces to paint on.
