Foundations of Expressive Landscapes

If you would like to learn about the basics of building a landscape painting, this is the course for you. In this course with Clare Purser, you’ll explore the foundations of composition, the underlying structure of a painting, and develop your understanding of how to create expressive and balanced landscapes. You will learn practical colour mixing techniques using acrylic paint, including how to create rich darks, mid tones, and lights that reflect the Australian palette. You’ll also learn how important value is in creating a sense of depth and perspective. Please bring 5 to 6 landscape photos that inspire you, printed or displayed on a laptop or tablet, as your personal reference material.
