Shibori, Indigo & Natural Dyes

During this course with Nancy Brown, students will learn how to create resist designs for indigo and natural dyes using pole wrapping, clamping and resist pastes. Contact prints will be made with plants and plant dyes and bundles of plants will be steamed to create stunning plant impressions onto a range of fabrics. Preparation of cloth and mordants will be demonstrated so that the dyes created are permanent and washable.
