Hand Building and Wheel Throwing Masterclass (26-29 June Eve)

Registration fee: $285.00

Hand Building and Wheel Throwing Masterclass with Peter Biddulph

This course provides a smorgasbord of techniques designed to develop the skills of students who already have some experience of either wheel throwing or hand building. Students are encouraged to try out and hone their skills in the following areas:
Throwing: Techniques for rescuing a wobbly pot, adding coils to a thrown form and continuing to throw, throwing double walled vessels, closing and altering thrown forms, Joining two separately thrown forms on the wheel, attaching hand built forms to the wheel to throw interiors, galleries and lids, professional turning techniques to prepare work for glazing.
Hand building: A broad variety of techniques not often demonstrated in ceramics classes will be explored to help students discover different ways of working with clay to achieve some satisfying results. Both additive and subtractive methods of hand building will be demonstrated.
This course would serve as a good springboard for those wishing to develop their own style and techniques with individual support in a 18 week Ceramics 2 course.

Monday 26 June to Thursday 29 June, 6.30 –  9.30pm (4 evenings).
