Milburn Art Prize









The annual exhibition is open to all artists from SE Queensland and Northern NSW with a $5,000 prize awarded for a 2D work including painting, drawing, printmaking and photography.The prize is non-acquisitive.


  This is an important community exhibition designed to encourage participation and competition between both professional and amateur artists. 
The Milburn Art Prize will discover new and exciting artistic talent, whilst also showcasing outstanding works by established artists. 
We hope that the Milburn Art Prize may be a springboard into the arts industry for many artists.

 Renai Grace, Director of the Museum of Brisbane selected two joint winners for the 2018 Milburn Art Prize, Annie O'Rourke for her painting, We live in a beautiful country and Emma Wright for her photographic work, Tether.  Tunnel II by Samir Hamaiel was also Highly commended.

Entry Fee:  AUD 35.00
Eligibility:    The non-acquisitive prize for a 2D work is open to all artists in South East Queensland (south of Bundaberg Shire) and Northern NSW (north of Clarence Valley Shire), with the exception of employees of Brisbane Institute of Art.
  All artwork must have been produced within the last 24 months.
Size of the work:  Work must not exceed 150cm (60") in height or width, with a depth of no more than 10cm and should be easily lifted by two people.
Delivery days: If selected for hanging, work must be delivered to the Brisbane Institute of Art, 41 Grafton Street, WINDSOR QLD 4030 - enter via carpark - during business hours (9.00am - 3.30pm, Monday - Friday), between Monday 9 April - Tuesday 17 April, 2018.
  Works will not be accepted outside these times.

  * All images must be a .jpg file and be of the work in its entirety. Each image must be less than 2MB in size, and should be no larger than 1200 pixels - longest side.
