Contemporary Ceramics with Peter Biddulph - This course explores design and construction in ceramics and in other disciplines such as architecture. Each week the work of a contemporary international ceramic artist or other practitioner working in 3D will be examined and their techniques discussed. This will serve as a source of inspiration and as a springboard to develop an individual series of works. Methods of construction in ceramics such as hand building, slip casting and throwing will be used in the creation of an original body of work. Students will complete several pieces and learn about the entire ceramics process of construction, glazing and firing. The course is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience of ceramics.
