Contemporary Printmaking with Christopher Hagen

Contemporary Printmaking will cover new materials and techniques as well as alternative uses for traditional media, combined with a creative approach to image making specifically designed for printmakers. This semester explores intermediate-level techniques with the low-toxicity “saline sulphate” etch for aluminium and other silvery metals, as well as advanced inking options and multi-plate printing. Introductory experience with etching is highly recommended — beginning students should contact the instructor before enrolling.
