Introduction to Ceramics

Introduction to Ceramics with Kirstin Farr - This workshop will provide a taste of both wheel and hand-building methods, such as pinch, coil, slab, and casting. Decoration, finishing and glazing techniques will also be explored, as will the various ceramics materials, tools and processes and the basics of kiln firing. Through the experience of creating functional and sculptural work, students will identify personal preferences for study in further workshops or courses. Selected pieces from the workshop may be fired for later collection.
