Contemporary Approaches to Watercolour

Contemporary Approaches to Watercolour with Zoe Porter will extend upon basic watercolour techniques and approaches. We will investigate a range of contemporary approaches to watercolour and experiment with mark-making, washes that also include using gouache and ink in combination with watercolour. Students will explore a range of contemporary artists who work with watercolour and in response create a series of A4 and A1 watercolour/mixed-media artworks as well as an accordion folded artist book. Students will develop artworks that focus on portraiture, hybrid forms, still-life and landscape and they will have the opportunity to explore their own concepts throughout the course. Beginners welcome.
