Charcoal Drawing with Sally Duhig

As a soft and chalky drawing medium charcoal allows the artist to create strong lines and tonal contrasts.  Adding black and white pastel to the drawing process enhances the tonal range and surface quality of the work.  In this short course you will use charcoal in various forms- pencil, stick and powder- to make both small detailed drawings and larger expressive drawings.  Some experience with observational drawing will help you to get the most from this course.
