This 9 week class provides a quick run through the major forms of printmaking. Students will learn relief (lino), intaglio (drypoint and etching), stencil (screen), and planographic (monotype and lithography) forms of printmaking. The abundant graphic qualities afforded by printmaking will be explored by considering colour, texture, structure, precision, and the painterly print. This fast-paced class schedule encourages students to respond creatively to materials and identify which mediums they would like to explore in more depth.
