The Garment: Ritual and Narrative - using an item of clothing or the remnants of any fabric material, together with a series of laser printed photographic images participants are asked to explore the various techniques of monotype printing in connection with collage. Participants will explore monotype, collage and photo-transfer techniques as a means of taking their chosen item of clothing through a series of transformative states. It is intended that the chosen item of clothing will be inked and placed through the press, so any attached buttons or high relief objects will need to be removed. As a medium clothing provides a poignant vehicle for referencing personal narratives that inescapably extends into notions of ritual, identity and memory.
