Introduction to Repousse and Chasing

Introduction to Repousse and Chasing with Catherine Large will provide an introduction into a versatile technique of patterning and forming metal by using punches to both stretch and compress the metal. In 9 weeks, there will be an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the tools, test out different metals, and learn how to make your own tools. As this is an introductory course, there will be a focus on experimentation - making samples to keep for future reference as well as the opportunity to create a finished piece. This technique is suitable for metal preparation for enamelling. This course is suitable for students with some existing skills in jewellery making.
