Wood Intaglio                                  Christopher Hagen

Wood intaglio is the treatment of plywood and other blocks as alternative etching plates. While this calls for a re-thinking of familiar drawing, inking, and printing methods, it is typically low-cost, low-toxicity, and relatively renewable compared to metal intaglio. Depending on wood choices and their treatment the wood grain may be embraced or minimized. This workshop will cover a variety of surface preparation options, drawing methods, and printing.
