Botanical Dyeing and Drawing

In this workshop with Stephen Newton, you will explore dyeing and staining paper using botanical materials, then learn drawing techniques to develop your dyed papers into finished artworks. Stephen will guide you through material selection and preparation and demonstrate a variety of drawing options using different media. You will dye two A4 or A3 bundles of paper during the workshop. Pre dyed paper will be available once the first dye bath is simmering. Botanical and drawing materials are provided, and students may also bring their own.
