Botanical Printing on Textiles and Paper

Explore the hidden world of plants by printing directly from leaves, bark, and flowers on paper and cloth, in this class with Nancy Brown. Plant prints are revealed through pigment extraction and compressed bundles for contact printing. An indigo vat will also be mixed. Anthotypes, an early photographic process, will be explored. Participants will learn how to extract dyes from plants to make washable textiles and set colour into fibre.
