This workshop with nameer Davis helps oil and acrylic painters resolve unfinished or “unfinishable” paintings by developing new strategies for defining the subject within the work. The premise is that a painting often begins with vague notions of form and content, then stalls when a dialogue between intention and the painting becomes difficult. We will consider the painting as an unfinished project—an object searching for what it needs to embody its subject.
