Contemporary Figurative Painting with Mia Clark, investigates the dynamic relationship between figure and surface by creating richly layered acrylic and collaged grounds from which the figure emerges. Drawing on artists such as Debbie Taylor Kernan, Amy Drury and Mark Horst, develop images that shift between semi abstract suggestion and recognisable representation using drawings from model sessions and personal photographs. Through colour planning, composition and experimental processes of revealing, obscuring and extracting the figure, build a series of contemporary figurative works that reflect your individual direction.
