This course with Geoffrey Harley, is an introduction to painting and drawing the portrait. The course will begin with exercises to develop awareness of the proportions of the face. This will be followed by an examination of the history of portraiture, the elements of art, colour mixing, composition and abstraction of the portrait. By week 4 we will move onto painting on a larger canvas.
