Silversmithing: Alternative Casting with Renata Fojtikova will introduce you to a number of different ways casting methods. You will explore simple techniques as well as more complex ways of casting sterling silver. These will include for example charcoal casting, straw casting and sand casting. We will also focus on wax carving and casting with stones. This action-packed short course is a great chance to learn about casting in a safe environment with an experienced tutor by your side to help you tackle any possible technical challenges. You will also be introduced to a number of core silversmithing techniques such as annealing, soldering and polishing. At the end of this course, you will have a wonderful suite of jewellery featuring beautiful organic forms.
