Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May | 9:30 – 4:00pm | 2 days
Total: $ 370.00
Description

In this course with Stephen Newton, explore the delicate beauty of leaves, flowers and natural textures by transforming them into a timeless plaster impression. Botanical plaster casting is a form of bas-relief art that captures the fine details, textures, and shapes of natural foliage. Students will discover how to select and prepare botanical materials for casting, learn mold-making techniques and explore finishing methods including sanding, sealing, and optional colouring and surface treatments. Botanical specimens will be provided; students can also provide their own. At the end of the workshop you will have a finished artwork ready to hang.
